We were able to take part in a unique crossing of the Alps. On Saturday, January 27, 2024, we took off from the Gossau area with three balloons. Perfectly coordinated, we took off at almost the same time. Through 2 or 3 clouds of fog, we were immediately at an altitude with a great view of the whole of eastern Switzerland. Our pilot, Stefan, set course for the Grisons Alps. The two other balloons were always close to us. So we were able to take some very nice pictures. At an altitude of around 5,000 meters, we crossed the Alps towards Italy. Stefan gave us precise information about the valleys and the Alpine peaks. He also took care of the airspace and transit authorizations. The impressions from up there were simply amazing and unique. After a four-hour flight, Stefan landed our balloon in a meadow near Brescia (I). Of course, we were picked up by the ground team and this wonderful day was rounded off with a delicious dinner.
